Mark Allen is one of the most accomplished audiovisual specialists in the United Kingdom, based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He holds the exceptionally rare designation of MPAGB/AV (Master Award of Photographic Merit in Audio Visual), achieved in 2022, a credential held by only 10 people throughout the entire UK, making him one of an extraordinarily exclusive group of practitioners. His achievements span competitive recognition, professional mentorship, international acclaim, and innovative work in both traditional and creative audio visual.
MPAGB/AV
The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) offers Awards of Photographic Merit (APM) by Print, PDI and Audio Visual. There are three levels, Credit, Distinction and Master. The first MPAGB/AV was awarded in 1999. Since then, there have been 23 applications, yet only 10 have been successful.
Pass Rate?
Whilst the PAGB do not operate a “pass rate”, each application being assessed against the standard, their record keeper, Patricia Platt, has noted that 43% of MPAGB/AV Applications have succeeded, compared to 46% of a much greater number of Applications for MPAGB in Prints, PDI and Slides.
YouTube
A YouTube playlist containing his MPAGB shows is publicly linked by Catchlight Camera Club, allowing viewers to watch the full submission of 3 AVs, and more.
